He's Just Not That Into You

I was excited for this movie. The trailers made it look hilarious! Granted, there were some pretty funny parts, i.e. Gigi's horrible phone message to Connor, but it really didn't end up being what I had hoped. 

This film stars: Jennifer Anniston, Ben Affleck, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Long, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore and the ever slutty Scarlett Johansen. Yes I said ever slutty... I'm obviously not a Scarlett Johansen fan :-)

Each of these characters have different relationship dramas that they are navigating through:

Jennifer Anistons', Beth, and Ben Afflecks, Neil, have been in a relationship for 7 years and Neil has yet to propose. He loathes the idea of marriage and this, alas, drives Beth away after 7 years of patiently waiting. 

Ben and Janine (Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Connelly) have been 'happyly' married since college and are building a new home together when, lo' and behold, Scarlett Johansen (Anna) shows up on the scene and seduces Ben. Now I know it takes two people to have an affair and I may be being a little biased when I call Anna a slut but, come on, she is! She strips down naked in front of Ben and jumps in the pool, even though he has told her multiple times that he is married. I guess Ben shouldn't have been in that situation anyways... So it's both of their darn faults. (Yes, darn faults.)

Drew Barrymore's plot line was a little weird and not really noteworthy. She has horrible luck finding a guy online and then finally meets one at a cafe. The end. 

My favorite plot line of the whole movie, and the plot line that saved the show, was Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Long, or Gigi and Alex. Gigi is the typical crazy girl who waits by her phone 24/7 when she is hoping that a guy that she went on a date with it calling. She is so clueless when it comes to the dating world it's hilarious. Alex, on the other hand, knows everything about the dating world and loathes it more than anything. During a chance meeting at a bar that Alex owns they meet and Alex becomes Gigi's go-to-guy when it comes to dating advice! You can only imagine how this turns out :-)

On the whole the movie was... ok. It was definitely too long and could have lost some of the storylines and been fine (*cough* Scarlett Johnansen and Drew Barrymore *cough*). But I feel that the other storylines made it worth watching: once. 

My rating: 2.5 HsM's out of 5 HsM's

* My rating scale is 1-5 High School Musicals. 1 being on the same level with Twilight and 5 being on the same level as High School Musical 3!

A New Era

I changed the name of my blog. Yes, I have conceded and made my blog a "couple's blog" as Taren so nicely coined it. My reasoning behind this is quite simple: I love Devin, and I want him to be a part of basically everything in my life, and my blog follows my life so.... it's now Devin's blog too! (Even though I don't think he will ever post anything on it... but he's allowed to if he wants to.)

23 because I am 23

1. I detest running more than anyone I know. Except for, maybe, Taren. But she doesn't hate it more than I do. We would just be equal in our hate for running. 

2. I know the blind industry inside and out. 

3. My chilli has to have lots and lots and lots of sugar in it. It's almost candied Chilli. I love it. 

4. Brian Littrel from The Backstreet Boys is my all time favorite celebrity. 

5. I love Disney Channel more than your 5 year old daughter. In my eyes, everything that Disney touches turns to gold. 

6. I am the worst letter writer in the world. Don't move somewhere far away and expect me to send you letters. I'll write them but I'll never send them. (Sorry Drew and Ciara)

7. All time favorite TV show: The OC. (Still!!!)

8.  I think that Devin has the best smile in the world! Seriously!

9. I have really small fingers. Most of my rings have to be bought in the kids section of jewelery stores. 

10. I sobbed loudly during Million Dollar Baby. People in rows in front of me in the theater were looking back to make sure I was okay. 

11. I'm going to marry my home teacher on June 19th, 2009

12. I hate being warm/hot at night. I can't sleep if the temperature is above 72 degrees. This stinks because my roommates refuse to turn on the AC ever!

13. I really liked Jr. High

14. My third grade teacher, Miss Meservey, was my favorite teacher. But she was also the only teacher who ever gave me detention! (twice!!)

15. I was a the manager of our school store when I was in 6th grade! I began the "Troll Sensation" at Highland Elementary. 

16. I love pomegranites. 

17. I have an amazing talent for the mario games on the regular nintendo! Old school!

18. Little Women is one of my favorite books. This list also includes: Enders Game and Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, The Book of Mormom by various Prophets, any books about the Tudor era and Henry VIII and The Only Road North by Erik Mirandette. I love so many books I can't even begin to list all of my favorites! 

19. I hate popular music (for the most part). There are a few exceptions to this though: Hannah Montana, High School Musical and The Jonas Brothers. 

20.  I hate winter and I am obsessed with summer. 

21. I don't like girly nail polish. When I paint my nails I like them to be either black, dark blue or dark purple. 

22. Marissa Cooper (The O.C.) is my fashion icon.

23. I am soooo happy!!!
