the climb

I'm a huge Disney fan. (If you didn't know this by now then I don't think you know me.) I love Hannah Montana. Yes, I said it. I love a show about some sixteen year old girl who is leading a double life: one as a pop star and the other as a normal teen.

On April 10th the Hannah Montana movie is coming out. It's going to be bittersweet. Sweet because I love HM. Bitter because I know deep down it will be the end of Hannah Montana.

I love the song that has been released on the radio. "The Climb". It's amazing. You tube it. I Tunes it. Steal it illegally off of Limewire Do anything it just so you can hear it. (Kidding, don't Limewire it. That's illegal and I don't want to get in trouble for promoting it. It's baaaad.) :-)

Anyways, it's a really inspirational song and the music video is also really good. Check it out!

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always gonna want to make it move.
Always gonna be an uphill battle,
sometimes I'm going to have to lose.
It aint about how fast I get there,
aint about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb!

Yay Miley!

I Want the World, Nothing Less

This weekend was pretty fun. But the highlight of it was definitely Friday night… HSM 3!!! I totally had 20 seconds of screen time!! (Okay the back of my head had about 15 of those seconds and my face had about 5… but I’m still IN HSM 3!!)

Let me paint a picture for you:

7:20 the lights go down. Everyone’s hearts are beating in anticipation. The previews start to roll and wala! One of the previews is Zac Efron’s new movie ‘Seventeen’ which will be making its big screen debut on April 17, 2009. I can’t wait. There was many a hushed scream when we saw his face up there. The previews keep going until they finally ended. Then a big “HSM 3” rolled across the screen followed by a close up of Zacs face… all sweaty and worried looking. The theater erupted in screams and applause! It was amazing! Steph and I let out our own little squeals of delight at seeing our favorite actor again.

The whole movie was amazing! It really was about 100 x better than I had expected. The music was amazing! (I immediately ran to Wal Mart after and bought the sound track.) The dancing was to die for! Sure there were a few things that were a little cheesy but come on it’s Disney and made for pre-teens (Even though I’m sure they are very well aware that there are many of the older generation that are just as obsessed.)

There is one song called “Can I Have This Dance,” that Troy and Gabriella sing to each other and I have been listening to it on repeat for the past couple of days. It is sooo cute!! Really mushy and really cute! Here are some lyrics. Enjoy.

~Take my hand, take a breath, pull me close and take one step. Keep your eyes locked on mine and let the music be your guide.

It’s like catching lightning; the chances of finding someone like you. It’s one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do. And with every step together we just keep on getting better. So can I have this dance? ~

Anyways go see HSM3 if you have the chance!! You won’t be disappointed!

Then Saturday I went to the BYU Football game. It was really close which was pretty disappointing. We used to be good, what happened? Letting UNLV almost beat us? Not good. Both of the teams defenses were not exactly great. Oh well. One highlight of the game: they announced the 2008-2009 BYU Basketball Team line up! And Jackson Emery is back! Yay! Hopefully the last two years didn’t drain him of talent : ) And next year Tyler Haws (Also from Lone Peak) will be playing there. Exciting.

Then I: went to dinner at Applebees, went to The Scream Asylum, went home, watched USC, went to sleep, woke up, went to church, went to my parents house, went to Devin’s sisters house, went home and did nothing. Great weekend!!!

A Phenomenon

Okay so today, October 24, 2008, is a BIG day!!!

No it is not my birthday.

No I am not engaged.

No World War 3 didn't start.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 WAS RELEASED INTO THEATERS :)

I woke up to a text message on my phone this morning that read:

"Meg. It was amazing. I almost cried. I wanted to jump into the screen and grab Zac Efron right there."

My text back went:

"I will cry and I will jump at the screen... hitting my face and falling miserably to the floor."

As Disney Channel keeps telling me, this is going to be epic! Gigantfabulousazing!!!! (I just made that word up right now. Be proud.)

I am going tonight to the 7:20 showing. All of us girls in my family will be wearing our HSM shirts :) I think that we may embarrass those who are coming with us. Who cares.

This is the official 'poster' for HSM 3. It's very typical. They are jumping (as they are in the first one.) But in this one they are wearing their graduation caps and gowns. This is marking their last year in High School. I can totally remember my last year in high school (It really wasn't that long ago... honest.) I was definitely breaking out into choreographed song and dance ALL THE TIME.

My senior year prom looked nothing like theirs. Come to think of it, neither did my junior year or sophomore year. I'm beginning to think I was jipped.

I can't wait for this musical number. Apparently it is totally out there and amazing.

I am in absolute love with this boy and WILL marry him someday. First he needs to get rid of Vanessa and realize how amazing I am. It's only a matter of time really. (Why did I put up a picture of him with Vanessa in it? Really what was I thinking?)

So moral of this post: Go see HSM3!! Zac Efron will be mine someday. I think all High School's should mandate choreographed singing and dancing into it's curriculum.
